Most brides go through four or five fittings before the big day, and proper tailoring is vital. A good bridal seamstress could cost up to $200 but it will make your $200 dress look more like a $700 dress. Just be careful with the extreme dieting and weight loss common before a wedding. A nightmare for your seamstress means more cost to you.
Choose a classic style that suits you. Strapless, sweetheart necklines, long lace sleeves, corset styles – choose one that needs less alterations and spend the extra on your own personal embellishments like vintage brooches and fur trim.
Just remember, the dress does not a bride make, but elegance and dignity from within that will radiate as you walk down the aisle, knowing you have made all the right life choices.
